My name is Endeïs and Phocus is the result of a passion that started when I was fourteen. I have always been the 'hat guy'—my idols, from the Victorian explorers to the icons of the silver screen, were defined by their silhouettes.
Working from my atelier in the Alps near Geneva, my goal is to produce hats that stand as close as possible to the historical standards of the craft. I focus solely on high-grade fur felt and the demanding techniques that defined hat-making before the trade was simplified. Following my training with master hatter Jean-Pierre Tritz, I have dedicated myself to the lineage of this trade, honoring the patience and precision required to work at this level.
The road to perfection in this craft is a long one, and I have chosen to walk it without compromise. Using antique blocks and traditional tools in Haute-Savoie, I build every hat one at a time, rejecting modern shortcuts in favor of the handwork that used to be the norm. For me, a hat is a functional, timeless object. While I am proud of every piece that leaves my workbench, I remain committed to the constant refinement of my work—seeking to reach the heights of the old masters with every specimen I create.
